Hyalovet, a hyaluronic acid therapy for intra-articular treatment of carpal or fetlock joint dysfunction, has been trusted since 1988 to provide a predictable clinical response.
A single injection of Hyalovet has been shown to significantly reduce lameness, swelling, pain, heat, and joint flexion associated with acute synovitis of the carpal joint.1 Hyalovet also markedly reduced lameness, pain on palpation, and pain on flexion and facilitated return to training in horses with arthroses of the carpal or fetlock joints in clinical trials.1
Hyalovet is manufactured to the highest standards. Molecular filtration technology removes inflammatory fractions and impurities. Repeated injections at up to 5 times the recommended dose resulted in no local or systemic toxic effects.
Hyalovet is an economical FDA-approved hyaluronic acid. It offers maximum dosing flexibility, with 2 mL vials and 2 mL syringes. Additionally, no refrigeration is required, and the product may be stored at room temperature without loss of stability.
Because Hyalovet is a Boehringer Ingelheim product, it’s sold only through licensed veterinarians.
As with any intra-articular injection, a mild inflammatory response may be seen in the joint following Hyalovet injection. The response is self-limiting but may last from 2 to 5 days after treatment. If inflammation is excessive or severe, the possibility of infection should be considered and appropriate antibiotic therapy instituted.
